Patrick J. O’Connor practices intellectual property law, including domestic and international trademark registration, patent and trademark licensing, review and commercialization of intellectual property assets, intellectual property-related due diligence, and associated counsel. Mr. O’Connor also litigates a variety of complex commercial matters in state and federal court. Finally, Mr. O’Connor represents communications carriers in regulatory and enforcement matters before the Federal Communications Commission and numerous state public utility commissions.

Mr. O’Connor is a graduate of the University of Richmond (B.A., Economics) and the Georgetown University Law Center (Juris Doctor). Upon graduation, he joined the intellectual property law practice of the multi-national firm, DLA Piper in Washington, DC. In 2003, Mr. O’Connor moved to Miami, Florida, where he continued to practice, first with Steel Hector & Davis and then (post-merger) with Squire Sanders & Dempsey. In 2007, Mr. O’Connor formed O’Connor Law Group LLP, which then merged with Harper Meyer in 2009.

Mr. O’Connor is licensed to practice in the State of Florida, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the District of Columbia, and he is a member of the bar of numerous federal district and appeals courts. Mr. O’Connor is a former lecturer in communications law at Georgetown University Law Center. He has written numerous articles on intellectual property and communications law, and he continues to speak domestically and internationally on both topics. Active in the community, Mr. O’Connor currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Greater Miami Service Corps. Mr. O’Connor is fluent in Spanish.
